The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation (Guardians), manager of the $85 billion New Zealand Superannuation Fund (Super Fund), today confirmed it had agreed to sell its stake in retirement village owner, operator and developer RetireAustralia to Invesco Real Estate, the global real estate investment business of Invesco Ltd. (NYSE: IVZ). 

The Super Fund and NZX-listed infrastructure investor Infratil each purchased 50 percent of RetireAustralia in 2014. Invesco has also agreed to purchase Infratil’s interest in Retire Australia. 

Guardians co-Chief Investment Officer Will Goodwin said that RetireAustralia “is a quality business, with strong leadership, contributing positively to Australia's aged care industry. 

“We wish them well under Invesco’s ownership. 

The Super Fund continues to invest alongside Infratil in various infrastructure assets, including significant holdings in US and European based renewable energy developments.
